at home, the daily damage from air conditioners, heaters, and the environment can wreck havoc on your skin. Keep reading for 8 of my nightly beauty tips for rejuvenated and youthful skin while you
sleep.1. Wash The Day Off Your Face: I am always shocked by how many women tell me they don’t wash their face at the end of the day! Girlfriends, you must get that grime off of your skin so it doesn’t clog your pores or irritate your eyes while you sleep.
2. Silk Pillowcases: Cotton pillowcases can be rough on our delicate skin. The problem with cotton is it has no slip to it, so it tugs on our skin as we sleep. When switching to a silk pillowcase, there is enough slip to avoid tugging and prevent those annoying sleep lines on your pretty little face.
3. Lather Up On Hand and Foot Cream: Most of us wash our hands a dozen times a day, if not more. All of that soap can really dry out your hands, and when the weather change,s the cold air can especially crack and irritate them. Use a rich shea butter cream at night, and coat your hands and feet with it just as you step into bed. You will wake up with baby soft skin.
4. Pull Up Your Hair: Tie up your hair in a loose ponytail every night to keep the oils from your hair off of your face.
5. Humidifier: Dry air from air conditioning and heat can really dry out the skin, leaving it looking dehydrated and weathered. Try using a humidifier every night to keep moisture in the room and on your skin.
6. Face Mask: Use a moisture mask twice a week to rejuvenate the skin and lock in moisture. I even sleep in one on occasion during the winter months.
7. Drink H2O: Dehydration makes your skin look more dry and wrinkled. This can be can be improved with proper hydration. Drink up throughout the day and a couple hours before you go to bed, ladies!
8. Get Some Shut Eye: Cells do most of their work over night, repairing and rebuilding while we are sleeping. Sleep increases melatonin (the sleep hormone), which acts like an antioxidant to fight age spots and fine lines. So get a good night’s rest so your skin can get to work while you sleep.
